MGH/McLean Adult Psychiatry
McLean Hospital and The General Hospital
were the founding partners in 1811 of The Massachusetts General Hospital,
the oldest voluntary, nonprofit hospital in New England and the third
oldest in the United States. It is the first and largest teaching hospital
affiliated with the Harvard Medical School.
McLean and The General Hospital share faculty, trainees, and collaborative
research endeavors. Research at MGH/McLean is among the largest scientific
programs in Psychiatry and Neuroscience in the world. MGH/McLean residency
programs in Adult Psychiatry and in Child Psychiatry enjoy the extensive
resources and the training opportunities are unsurpassed.
Why fight history? MCD Studios recognized the MGH McLean Residency Training
Program in Adult Psychiatry has been a forerunner in research psychiatric
treatment and history for almost 200 years! The historical significance
is featured throughout the website along with a fascinating time line
because an organization doesn't make history for this long if it doesn't
excel.
To furnish young applicants with an unbiased view of the four year program,
MCD interviewed, photographed and took quotes from current residents.
These photos and quotes are woven through out the site to give an applicant
a sense of who they will be working with, what they will be doing and
what to expect.
